On the Road to Customer Tracking Software

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT'S WHO YOU KNOW
I have 1 piece of software to evaluate from Download.com,
RegKeeper. But there are 3 more
on my list, because I know (or kinda knew) the authors. It is good to hang out where other
software authors hang out (may I recommend AISIP?).
Greg Berthume, a fellow Clarion programmer, has been working on and selling
CPTracker
for a couple of years now. When I looked at it
years ago, it wasn't my version of perfect, so I went no farther with it. Now, done is
more important than perfect, so I'll give it another look. Greg offers a discount to AISIP
members - that is a plus.
Shane Meredith is a fellow AISIP member, and is actively working on a CRM named
Radix.
I understand that Radix is server-based, but I think I can load it on my own server
(maybe on my own machine?), so I'll give it a look. Shane is a nice guy, and offers
a nice discount to AISIP members.
Last is a piece of software that has been around a long time,
Shareware Assistant.
I've heard it mentioned by other people now and then (not often), and I've read a few
posts from a person I assumed was the author. The last time I looked into it (years ago),
the website was dismal and it appeared to be dying. Things have changed: the website is
very nice and the software was updated a week ago.
